Baby Shower Bonanza!!!

So this is what's been occupying my time lately, I am in total baby shower mode. I should say, total forest creatures and woodland decor mode. Our mother-to-be decided to go with somewhat of a woodsy theme in the baby's room, so we decided to run with it. Once we found the button mushroom invitations below we were on a roll. Trees, mushrooms, owls, furry friends, ladybugs and a bunch of red and purple. This theme is so much fun.

I found the invitation on Paper Cultures website. They have the cutest designs, but it was not a baby shower invitation, it was in the kids birthday party section.

Here is some of our inspiration for the shower...

As far as hanging decorations go, I decided to do a scrapbook paper garland and the tissue paper pom poms. I followed the pom pom directions to a tee, but for the garland, since I don't sew, I just glued ribbon between back to back pieces of scrapbook paper. It was quite easy for us non-crafty folks.

Plastic cups are fine for most parties, but if you want to class it up a bit try Mason Jars. I borrowed some 8oz. mason jars from my sister-in-law and bought some at my local grocery store as well.

The "theme" for food is sort of East Coast and Italian cuisine. We are going to have some great hors d'oeuvres and then make a few salads and some mini sandwiches.
