Guppy Graber's Room

Okay, so I'm finally posting pics of the babies room. I know I lagged, but I have an issue with waiting until it's totally done, which it still isn't, but I'm posting anyways. Baby Steps =)

Before

Considering we'd just move in September, not much had been done in here anyways. We had a bed, nightstands and the dresser from hell (all the drawers had broken).

Here is the layout I decided we'd probably go with, think this is going to change once we get the glider (still on order, it's been major drama)...

We started with the crib which we actually got on Amazon, but Baby Earth's pricing is slightly better...

I've loved this bedding for quite awhile and love it for a boy or a girl. I love all of Litto Kids bedding for either sex...

I searched high and low for a fully upholstered glider that didn't cost an arm and a leg and that didn't totally offend me (don't judge by this pic, the fabric shown is horrible). I found this one at Spoiled Beginnings in Costa Mesa and I brought in my own fabric, I just didn't fall in love with any of their choices. I'll post a pic once it arrives. I'm crossing my fingers it will be soon.

We also found this adorable painting at Spoiled Beginnings...

I was inspired by this mural from Apartment Therapy. However, we decided it needed to be a little less "Sleepy Hollow" and more like something out of a nursery rhyme. We had T.J.'s mom, a very talented artist, come and paint one for us. She did the whole thing free hand, I was totally amazed.

Almost there....

Finished Product with our monkey mobile from Target...

My mom sent us the Wooly Night Owl I'd been lusting after, it's even cuter and cozier in person...

Changing Station

We were originally just going to get an dresser from Ikea and paint it, but then we found this awesome antique dresser with a marble top at my one of my favorite shops, The Landmark Antiques in Mission Viejo. It's from the 1890's and it's just gorgeous in person. Then we added this changing top from Land of Nod for $129 and a Diaper Caddy, $29.99, from Target for supplies.

The last thing we needed for the changing area was some kind of shelving above for toys, books, supplies, etc. I was originally thinking of just plain espresso finished shelves from West Elm or Pottery Barn, but it was getting to matchy matchy. I came across this awesome wire shelving unit in the Sundance Catalog and had to have it and it works perfectly with the hooks we got to spell out "BATH" for towels in the bathroom.

Here is the "almost finished" changing area, I still have some rearranging to do.

We still need bedding and a rug, but we decided to wait to see if it's a boy or girl. This way we can add another color and more feminine or masculine touches.

We can't wait to meet baby!
