DIY: Furniture Makeovers
DIY furniture projects are a great way to save money and still get amazing pieces of furniture. The best part about these projects is they are are unique.
I found this light pink dresser at the Long Beach Flea Market for $35. I painted it Galapagos Turquoise from Benjamin Moore and then got $5 knobs from Ace Hardware.

If you don't have time to hunt down pieces of furniture to paint and revamp, check out your local ikea. Here is one example from Design Sponge.
If you don't want to do the work yourself, The White Attic in Chicago (contact them for pricing) gives makeovers to old vintage pieces. It would cost a little more to buy something someone else has put work into, but you could also just use their online pieces for inspiration...
